Urban Waist Beads

Urban Waist Beads

We’ll explore the history and meaning of waist beads, share a guided intention-setting meditation, and create our own beads in community.

Who this is for

Join Beloved Being at Urban Asanas for a two-hour Waist Beads Crafting Circle—an evening of culture, intention, and creative connection.

We’ll begin by exploring a brief history of waist beads, their origins, and the many purposes they have held across African and diasporic traditions. From adornment and self-awareness to spiritual and personal expression, waist beads carry stories, lineage, and meaning.

Welcome to ALL this resonates with 💙✨

Benefits

Before we begin crafting, we’ll share a gentle guided meditation to ground, connect, and pour intentions into the beads you’ll be creating. Then, we’ll settle into a relaxed, communal space to design and string your own waist beads while connecting with others in conversation and creativity.
