At Create Power Yoga, Petra’s mission is simple but powerful: to create a space where students feel safe, supported, and empowered in their practice—where yoga isn’t about perfection, but about showing up, exploring, and building a deeper relationship with yourself.

Bio
Petra’s journey with yoga began in college as part of her dance training, but it quickly became more than just movement. Yoga helped her manage pain from old injuries and unravel movement patterns shaped by years of dance. More than that, it offered a sense of grounding - helping to quiet the ever-present pull of anxiety and the need for control.
In 2013, Petra completed her teacher training with Deborah Williamson of Wild Abundant Life, and by 2014, she and her husband, Billy, founded Create Power Yoga. What started as a leap of faith after an unexpected life change became a thriving community - one built on connection, inclusivity, and empowerment. With a background in nonprofit programming and community-building, Petra saw the studio as more than just a place to practice yoga; she envisioned it as a space where students could feel truly seen, supported, and strong in their own skin.
Petra’s teaching is rooted in functional movement, self-inquiry, and adaptability. She’s trained in the LIVE LOVE TEACH® methodology, mentored by leaders in the power yoga world, and holds an advanced certification focused on functional movement from Stacy Dockins of The Yoga Project. She is also deeply committed to training teachers who aren’t just skilled in leading yoga classes, but who understand communication, learning styles, creating accessible classes, honor yoga's roots, and understand the science behind movement.
