Bio
As a teacher and student of yoga, Jessie Dwiggins understands the power of the practice to help you befriend your body and settle your nervous system. Her teaching style was born from her own experience of feeling disconnected and pushy with herself for years, and using mindfulness practices to partner with her body rather than override it. Jessie’s vinyasa and self-myofascial release (ball rolling) classes emphasize intention and functional movement, with plenty of attention paid to the core, the hips, and using the body, breath, and mind to focus. You’ll build strength, mobility, and resilience while also learning how to read your signals, pace your effort, and come back to yourself.
Jessie has been teaching since 2007 to classes ranging in size from 1 to 1000 students, as a featured teacher at Yoga Reaches Out. In addition to yoga certifications, she holds a master’s degree in dietetics, is a licensed Am I Hungry?® Mindful Eating Facilitator, co-authored Yoga and Mindful Eating with Michelle May, M.D., and created From Um to Inspiration: Public Speaking Skills for Yoga Teachers.
