Body by Breath® explores the science behind the diaphragm-vagus nerve connection and delivers a series of exercises that train and modulate your body for profound relaxation, increased body awareness, and mind-body connectivity. This is a resilience-building practice.
What to expect
This 3 Day Immersion provides you with multiple embodied explorations that create the conditions needed for profound relaxation, increased body awareness, and mind-body connectivity. You’ll find a treasure chest of new practices to enhance your life. Each day includes a movement-based workshop, educational lecture, and interactive PowerPoint Q/A session.

1) The anatomy and physiology of stress relief and the new science of the vagus nerve
2) Explore your diaphragm and breathing techniques
3) Practical meditation methods for everyone
4) How to create effective relaxation for yourself and your students
5) Roll Model® Therapy Ball Techniques to speed up relaxation and relieve pain
Style/Lineage
Jill Miller is a pioneer in forging relevant links between the worlds of fitness, yoga, massage, athletics, and pain management. Jill is known as the Teacher’s Teacher and has trained thousands of movement educators, clinicians, and manual therapists to incorporate her paradigm-shifting self-care fitness programming into athletic and medical facility programs internationally. She and her team of 500+ teachers help you to live better in your body with an emphasis on proprioception, mobility, breath mechanics, and recovery.

By the end of this program, graduates will be able to…
- Describe the anatomy and physiology of stress-relief, including the Diaphragm-Vagus Nerve connection.
- Explain the physiology of the diaphragm and its importance in posture, digestion, coughing, and elimination.
- Describe the anatomy of the Vagus Nerve and the three zones we can stimulate it in: Supra-clavicular, Thoracic, and Subdiaphragmatic.
- Explore more then 10+ practices to mobilize, release, and strengthen the diaphragm.
- Practice body-based meditation techniques that are accessible to all
- Teach simple body-based meditation techniques that are accessible to all
- Guide students to use Roll Model® Therapy Ball Techniques to hasten relaxation and pain relief
- Guide savasana with an understanding of the vagus nerve, that help clients experience a body wide parasympathetic cascade of relaxation.

CECs available: 18 IAYT CECs and 15 NPCP CECs. This course is eligible for 12.5 Transfer Credits to Prema Yoga Institute’s IAYT-accredited Yoga Therapy Certification.
