Bio
Hama started her yoga journey in 2006 with Bikram Yoga and completed her 500-hour teacher training under Gopi Kinnicutt at Bhakti Yoga DC. For Hama, teaching yoga is a way to share the joy and inner peace that arise from connecting breath, body, and mind through movement. With a warm and straightforward style, she helps students restore balance and nurture themselves and their self-expression. She especially enjoys working with beginner and Level 1 students in studio classes, private sessions, and community centers.
Hama has been an enthusiastic athlete throughout her life, competing as a runner, field hockey player, snowboarder, (bad) surfer, Pilates practitioner, and figure skater. She is also a dedicated Vipassana meditator, which has transformed her life and complements her yoga asana practice perfectly. Passionate about cooking, baking, and eating, she also loves spending quality time with her cats and husband, practicing the art of doing nothing and simply being.
