What to expect
This is a fully immersive 25 day journey at the renowned Govardhan Eco-Village in India, where you will get a true experience of living yoga in the heart of bhakti. This journey is unlike any other, offering you the rare opportunity to not just teach yoga, but truly live it.
Under the guidance of master teachers, you’ll refine your skills, embody the deeper wisdom of yoga, and learn to integrate its sacred rituals into modern life. You’ll be steeped in the culture of devotion, learning everything from asana sequencing to harmonium, mantra chanting, and transformative daily rituals.
A Typical Day:
5:30am-8:30am Satsang Pranayam and Asana
8:30-9:30am Breakfast
10-12:15: Philosophy, Kirtan Study, or Asana Lab
12:15-1:15pm: Lunch
1:45-5pm: Various Topics: A+P/Teaching Methodology/
5:30pm-6:30pm: Satsang
6:30-8pm: Dinner
8pm- Free Time and Deep Sleep

Style/Lineage
Raghunath's lineage is unique in that it combines Krishna Bhakti of Bhaktivedanta Swami with the Ashtanga/Iyengar based asana practices which he learned from esteemed teachers Maty Ezraty, Dharma Mittra.

Professional Knowledge
- Describe the yoga philosophy contained in Bhagavad Gita and how to apply it to daily life for contemporary experience.
- Discuss various stories and parables from the Puranas and traditions of the Bhagavat schools with contemporary yoga students
- Cue yoga postures using simple and accurate language for body parts, from the ground up and with an emphasis on energetic actions within asana
- Apply the principles of the Yamas and Niyamas of Patanjali's Yoga Sutra, with relevant examples of ethical conduct in contemporary life.
Practice Skills
- Offer safe and effective hands on assists to bring students into more ease in at least 6 different common yoga asanas..
- Practice traditional japa meditation, with a received mantra
- Perform a simple traditional bhakti Puja practice for spiritual connection and personal renewal
Teaching Skills
- Design a 60-minute all level vinyasa sequence that includes appropriate asana, pranayama, and meditation, with an emphasis on bhakti yoga, and warm up to a peak pose.
- Teach 3 core pranayama practices including anuloma/viloma(alternate nostril breathing), samma-vritti(box breathing)and Ujjayi breathing into 3 part breath clearly, cued to appropriately pacify or energize the nervous system.
- Lead a simple call and response Kirtan as part of a yoga or meditation practice.
AYC allows each school to state and evaluate the competencies each student acquires. Students rate how well the program delivered them.
