Purpose
In this life-changing program, you will be provided with the tools to develop the skills
and knowledge required to lead others in a vinyasa yoga class; while integrating the philosophical wisdom of this ancient practice in a way that is relevant in today's modern world.
What to expect
This is s hybrid program that includes both in-person training and self-study, self-paced assignments via the online 200-hour course platform.
This year long schedule allows you to fully absorb all the information presented without the need for rushing or feeling overwhelmed as you balance all the other things in your life.
Upon registration, you will receive access to the online course platform so that you can begin your studies.
Style/Lineage
Lyn Kehoe Power Yoga is a breath guided, vinyasa style, meditative practice where poses are used as tools for transformation. It is grounded in the foundational elements of Ashtanga yoga, with influences of the contemporary power yoga styles of Baron Baptiste and Bryan Kest.
Classes are designed for all levels. Options are offered throughout to support a non-competitive environment and inclusivity.
Additional Information
A minimum of one year of yoga experience is recommended. Though, anyone who is disciplined and dedicated is welcome.

AYC allows each school to state and evaluate the competencies each student acquires. Students rate how well the program delivered them.

Program evaluations
- Teaching evaluation
A final teaching evaluation is held during the last in-person training session. Each trainee is required to teach the full 90-minute power yoga sequence. Trainees will be evaluated on the following objectives: -the ability to confidently set a tone and intention at the beginning of class -the ability apply clear and precise cueing for transitions using the 'breath, action, body part, direction' formula -the ability to demonstrate knowledge of basic alignment for each pose that is being taught; and to teach the alignment for each pose from "the ground up' -the ability to include appropriate modifications or options, along with any needed corrective verbal assists -the ability to direct attention to the energetic/oppositional actions of a pose, interoceptive awareness -the ability to demonstrate knowledge on a specific philosophical concept and apply it in a vinyasa class in a way that is relevant and understandable to students (a philosophical theme) -the ability to create a safe and welcoming space for all -appropriate voice tone and projection; the ability to move around the room and make your presence known -proper pacing and timing of the class Other evaluations: -The Yoga Anatomy and the Yogic Studies Philosophy units require completion and submission of review questions. -Throughout your training you will be required to complete light reading assignments, along with journaling and reflection, on the ten ethical principles of yoga. You will be expected be prepared to discuss and contribute to a group discussion and share your personal experience, understanding, and challenges for each.
